Meet Our Team
To most optimally serve our patients, each of our three doctors is part of a team which consists of a dedicated administrative assistant and medical assistant, who work alongside the doctor. You will work most often with your doctor’s team, but will also become familiar with the other members of our staff, as they cover for each other during vacations or other time out of office. We also have a practice administrator and billing specialist in our office who are also available to meet with patients as needed. Scroll down to learn more about our support staff.
Dr. Liaw's Team
William Liaw, MD
Physician
Dr. Liaw joined Newton Wellesley Primary Care in 1997. He graduated magna cum laude from Brown University in 1990, and then from the University of Virginia School of Medicine. During medical school, he spent several months in an outpatient clinic on the Navajo Reservation. He was one of the founders of the internal medicine club in medical school. He then completed his medical residency training at the University of Vermont.
Dr. Liaw is an Associate Clinical Professor at Tufts University School of Medicine, a former co-director of the physical diagnosis course at Newton-Wellesley Hospital, as well as the recipient of the Allen W. Locke, MD and Mark Aisner, MD awards for Excellence in Teaching of Physical Diagnosis.
Dr. Liaw is board-certified in Internal Medicine and has been named one of Boston’s top primary care physicians by Boston Magazine. He enjoys photography and running. Dr. Liaw, his wife Patricia, and their two daughters reside in Needham.

Dr. Richard's Team
Jeanne Richard, MD
Physician
Dr. Richard graduated Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Vermont in 1991. She received her medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine, where she was elected into the Alpha Omega Honor Society. She completed her residency in Internal Medicine at New England Medical Center, where she served as Chief Medical Resident.
Dr. Richard is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and is a Clinical Instructor of Medicine at the Tufts University School of Medicine. Dr. Richard lives in Bolton with her husband and their four children.

Dr. Pao’s Team
Charles Pao, MD
Physician
Dr. Pao is a 1989 graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, where he was elected to the Eta Kappa Nu Honor Society. He received his medical degree from the University of Texas Medicinal School of Medicine in Houston, where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. He completed his Internal Medicine Residency at Yale University School of Medicine.
Dr. Pao is an Assistant Clinical Professor in Medicine at Tufts University School of Medicine. He has been given the Faculty Award for Excellence in Teaching in Medicine, the Allen W. Locke, MD Award for Effective Teaching of Primary Care, and the Partners in Excellence Award by Partners Health Care.
Dr. Pao is Board Certified in Internal Medicine. He has special interests in cardiovascular diseases and preventive medicine.
